Today, self-hypnosis weight loss is considered one of the alternative medicines as it has proven to be effective.</p>
<p>There are several benefits of self-hypnosis weight loss when compared to other methods of losing weight. It may be prudent at this point to list out some of the other known means of cutting down weight. The first is through diet management. This involves eating certain foods such as fruits, vegetables and roughage in increasing quantities and reducing intake of free glucose sources such as refined sugar. Secondly is to engage in physical exercises that increase breakdown of excess fat in the tissues. These include aerobics, taking walks and even light weightlifting. Last is the use of herbal therapies and surgery. These are often expensive.</p>
<p>The benefit of self-hypnosis weight loss is that one is able to achieve losing weight through conditioning of the mind. It should be pointed out at this point in the discussion that whichever method that is recommended for losing weight, the engagement of the mind must be achieved before it usefulness is realized. One must get to a point where they enjoy the prescription for losing weight. They should also be able to believe that it will work to their benefit and not perceive it as being tiring task. These are the benefits that hypnosis that is self-administered brings to traditional weight loss. Therefore, we are not suggesting that you avoid the traditional weight loss strategies; rather you should complement it with hypnosis to make it effective and sustainable.</p>
<p>Besides increasing the ability to adhere to the weight loss prescription, the self-hypnosis would make reduce the cost of the process. There are those that belong to the school of thought that hypnosis must be administered by a second person. Most scientists are however now in agreement that whatever the source of the stimulus, it takes the individual to eventually hypnotize self. Therefore once the individual has learnt how to self-administer, he or she can cut down on costs of having to be supported in performing a routine that they now enjoy.</p>

I believe hypnosis has two main tools, distorting perceptions and increasing motivation. For someone trying to lose weight I might distort their perceptions so that they have a better self image and thus feel more inclined to improve their bodies and their health or I might distort their perceptions of how full they are. I might increase their motivation to exercise and eat right or increase their motivation to exercise their will power. Will power is something that takes time and practice, the better you get at it the more it will help you in all areas of your life. With that in mind, here are some tips that will help you lose weight that are similar to what you might experience with hypnosis.</p>
<p><strong>Tip #1 &#8211; Get Smaller Plates.</strong> You might know on conscious level that the plates (or bowls, cups, et c) are smaller but the reaction to how full you are is inbuilt. You see an empty plate that means you&#8217;ve finished eating. Even if you&#8217;re the kind of person to go back for seconds, there is still an implication that each round of eating ends with an empty plate. Getting smaller plates tricks the part of your mind that&#8217;s learned the reaction &#8211; empty plate equals finished meal.</p>
<p><strong>Tip #2 &#8211; Get a Training Partner.</strong> Sometimes you find it easier to motivate someone else than you do yourself. If you train with someone you need to push them to train harder and as a result they will push you right back. If you have a child who is also overweight or if you know someone who&#8217;s overweight but knows nothing about exercise you can go one step better. If you adopt the teacher role, where you instruct them on training and help them exercise, you will become far more motivated to do better yourself. An old teaching tactic is to make the pupil teach someone else because it really focuses their learning.</p>
<p><strong>Tip #3 &#8211; Become a Bit Self-Obsessed</strong>. Start checking yourself out in the mirror. Start measuring the size of parts of your body with a tape measure. As you start to eat healthy and exercise you will start to look better and you will start to slim down. If you start enjoying every small victory you can stay motivated to keep going. Start catching glimpses of yourself in reflective surfaces. Notice how much better you start to look after just one week, one month, and eventually one year. And be proud. Develop a good relationship with your self-image.</p>
<p>Tip #4 &#8211; Drink More Water. Did you know that you get a lot of your calories from beverages? Your colas, lemonades even your fruit juices contain a lot of calories. Want to know the worst part? Your body won&#8217;t tell you that you&#8217;ve consumed enough calories. Our bodies are not wired to produce the &#8220;I&#8217;m full response&#8221; after having a drink. You could have dozens of drinks with high calorie contents throughout the day and your body would not tell you that it&#8217;s enough but you still consume those calories. Instead drink water when you want a drink. That&#8217;s what the body wants when it&#8217;s thirsty anyway. See this is very much like a hypnotic effect. You are consuming calories and your body isn&#8217;t telling you to stop when it&#8217;s had enough. Your perceptions with drinks are already distorted.</p>
<p>These tips will not replace a healthy diet and plenty of exercise. But they can be a good start. Use them as motivation for going further. Prove to yourself that you can achieve these small goals. Remember that success is not a place to stop and rest; it&#8217;s a stepping stone to your next goals.</p>

<p>Like many of the commonly used techniques of hypnotism, hypnosis for weight loss is a natural way of changing a persons habits and beliefs about a healthy diet. The actual technique of hypnosis for weight loss is actually basic common sense and involves getting back in touch with your bodies natural cycles.</p>
<p>From how most overweight people overeat to avoid painful emotions, how our stomachs are designed for only eating full meals every few days, how to tune your taste buds for portion control and the basic formula for healthy eating. The article will explore the many exciting aspects of the basic technique of hypnosis for weight loss.</p>
<p>When it comes to hypnosis for weight loss there is only one single reason why people overeat. People will only overeat to avoid or suppress negative feelings or emotions. By over eating to the point of being full and satisfied one temporally eliminates any painful emotion or experience. It is through this basic principal that this technique works on.</p>
<p>The common western diet is much different from the diet of our early man ancestors. Our stomachs are designed to be filled completely with food only once a day. In fact our ancestors often didn&#8217;t eat a completely filling meal for up to thee days at a time. In between hunts our ancestors ate leafs, vegetables, sprouts, fruit, nuts, seeds and berries. When you do hypnosis for weight loss; the main objective will be to resolve this one issue.</p>
<p>As you start practising this technique on a regular basis you will be able to tune your senses. That is the beauty of this technique of hypnosis for weight loss, with practise we tune our taste buds to make appropriate decisions a use portion control. We eat when we are hungry, we enjoy the food and when we are full, no more food passes our lips. The basic idea is as follows.</p>
<p><strong>The Technique</strong></p>
<p>Follow these suggestions fully and completely each time that you sit down to eat and when ever you are hungry. Hypnosis for weight loss includes four specific steps.</p>
<p>1. Whenever you are hungry for food you should be sure to eat something healthy. Never starve yourself of deprive yourself when you are hungry (this is important).</p>
<p>2. Don&#8217;t eat what you think you should, just because it is in front of you, eat what you want until you are full.</p>
<p>3. With each bite of food you take, chew carefully and fully. Enjoy each and every mouthful of food. Pay attention to your food as you eat it and make sure to chew the food completely, up to thirty times per mouthful.</p>
<p>4. As soon as you think you are full make sure you slow down the eating or even stop completely. It can take a few minutes for the feeling of fullness to catch up to you, so it is helpful to stop eating just before the feeling of fullness comes.</p>
<p>As you can probably tell by now this technique is basic, and gets right to the point. Regardless of whether you lean the hypnosis for weight loss technique when you are deep in trance or simply by consciously repeating the process in your daily life, the process is simple. Always be training yourself to eat when you are hungry, enjoy each bite completely, eat until you are full and then stop eating. Remember less is more.</p>

<p>Losing weight with hypnosis is something fairly new. Hypnosis is most commonly done by a hypnotherapist. Hypnosis usually consists of letting yourself get in a very relaxed state of mind and body.</p>
<p>Many hypnotherapists will have the patient to think of a very relaxing place such as a beach or forest. Once the patient is in a deep relaxed state, the hypnotherapist suggests things about eating food. For example, the hypnotherapist may say something like, &#8220;When sad or depressed you think food will make you feel better but, in reality, a small walk or a couple deep breaths will be the best help&#8221;. Suggestions such as this are made, helping the subconscious to change your thinking and help to lose weight.</p>
<p>Hypnosis for losing weight is not magic. Hypnosis can help with a weight loss goal, but it cannot change the way you choose to eat. It is important to set goals for weight loss and add exercise along with hypnosis. Hypnosis can help a person to look at food differently and has been proven to help with weight loss.</p>
<p>Besides hypnotherapists there are also CD&#8217;s available for hypnosis. However, CD&#8217;s are not as effective as individual hypnotherapy. Individual hypnotherapy can focus towards you particularly. CD&#8217;s deal with common issues people have with food. It would be best to go to a hypnotherapist if considering hypnosis for losing weight.</p>
<p>Motivation is the key when you want to lose weight. You have to really want to lose weight in order to lose it. Losing weight consists of changing the way you live. Changing the way you live can be hard at first, but after you reap the benefits you will never want to go back to the way you were living.</p>
<p>By changing the way you live you should start eating healthier foods, start doing more physical activity and stop eating when you&#8217;re not hungry. The key to doing this is to start a little at a time. Don&#8217;t expect to change over night. It took this long to get the lifestyle you have now and it will take time to change it. Start small and set goals.</p>

<p>One of the many uses of hypnotism &#8211; weight loss, can be easily achieved through direct sessions with a certified hypnotherapist or a clinical psychologist who uses hypnotherapy to augment his treatment regimens. The United States has the highest per capita percentage of people considered obese. One is considered obese if their weight is twenty five percent higher than the ideal weight for their frame type, height and age. For example, my ideal weight is 175 pounds for a male, age 50, 5&#8242; 10&#8243; and average frame. If I weighed 220 pounds I would be considered obese.</p>
<p>The United States also has the highest percentage of obese children under the age of ten in the world. This is a sad commentary on how we view our own eating habits and quality of health along with our children&#8217;s. With the New Year approaching many people are going to put &#8220;losing weight&#8221; as one of their New Year&#8217;s resolutions and many gym memberships will be purchased (as many as half will be abandoned by the end of February) and fewer than ten percent of the people who do not employ the use of outside aides will achieve their weight loss goals.</p>
<p>Claims that hypnotism for weight loss will work on anyone is absurd and the people who claim this to be true should be avoided at all costs. Hypnotism is a great way to focus your mind and to have greater relaxation and relief from stress in your life. The only problem with hypnotism is that you have to be willing to be hypnotized for it to work well and many people think that hypnosis is a parlor game or magic trick that is not to be taken seriously. There are many psychologists that use hypnosis as a way to reinforce positive behaviors to help modify a patient&#8217;s daily routine and achieve their goals.</p>
<p>A hypnotist will not be able to help you lose weight if you truly do not want to lose weight. If you go to a hypnotist for help at the urging of someone else without making the decision on your own the therapy will take much longer to work and may not help you get to your weight goal. Hypnosis can help you focus on eating healthy foods, exercise on a regular basis and focus on the positive aspects of losing weight and getting fit.
